OPENING THE 14th DRAWING CONTEST "CHILDREN OF HO CHI MINH CITY WITH UNCLE TON" IN 2019 WITH THE THEME "UNCLE TON WITH THE WORKING CLASS"

     On the occasion of 131 years of President Ton Duc Thang's birth (August 20, 1888 - August 20, 2019) and 90 years of establishment of Vietnam Trade Union (July 28, 1929 - July 28, 2019), Ton Duc Thang Museum organizes the drawing contest with the theme "Uncle Ton with the working class" at Ton Duc Thang Museum.

The children of the participation units are gathering to prepare for the opening ceremony of the  14th  drawing contest "Children of Ho Chi Minh City with  Uncle Ton"

 

     The contest attracts 31 Children's House units, Cultural Center, some primary schools, with nearly 330 children selected from the units. In particular, there are the participation of disadvantaged children, deaf and blind children at deaf and special schools in Ho Chi Minh City and the contestants from An Giang Children's House, Uncle Ton's homeland.

     By their own feelings through the language of painting, they will portray Uncle Ton's image with the Vietnamese working class. The contest contributes to educate children about the historical tradition, the noble moral character of President Ton Duc Thang, about Uncle Ton's sentiment towards the Vietnamese working class. Simultaneously, it is the chance for the contestants to have a healthy, joyful and useful playground on the summer holidays.

     The contest receives the sponsorship from the units: Dong Thai Son Trading and Service Construction Consultant Company Limited; But Vang design and manufacturing, trading service Company Limited (Mango) that has accompanied, contributed products, financial to help for the organization to be more thoughtful.

     It is expected that the closing ceremony, awarding and opening the exhibition will be held at 8 a.m on August 17, 2019 at Ton Duc Thang Museum, No. 5 Ton Duc Thang Street, Ben Nghe Ward, District 1.
