The pepper-mill which Uncle Ton bought in the Soviet Union in 1955 and offered his wife is not materially great but it has a grand museum meaning. Ton Duc Thang Museum now has not collected it.
To commemorate and to recognize the immense service of President Ton Duc Thang, in 2000, the HCMC Labor Union and Saigon Liberation Newspaper jointly organized the Ton Duc Thang Prize whose meaning is to honour and commend good and advanced workers in the movement of the City’s Officers, Employees, Laborers.
Established in 1988, Ton Duc Thang Museum is a new and young museum compared to others in this city. It is the form of great-men commemoration with its specificity and scope of operation which are not as wide as the General Museum or other specialities.
