    An Giang is a province in the Southwest. Its topography consists of large land, long river, numerous mountains, forests, islets and banks, isles. An Giang lies between the Tien River and Hau River. An Giang’s people, over 03 centuries of struggle, have left a lot of historical and valuable relics, marking merits of founders of present An Giang. Beside the heroic and resilient struggling tradition over the two resistance war against the French Colonialists and American Imperialists, An Giang has pridefully succeeded our ancestors’ traditions of nation founding and protecting. An Giang is also the place generating the eminent person – President Ton Duc Thang, who has been closely connected to the glorious history of Vietnam Revolution and the revolutionary struggle career of world’s people.

Coming into being much later when being compared with other museums in the country’s museum-system, the past time is a period with full of hardship for the Museum in the development orientation from “Exhibition House” to “Museum”. It is the whole process to confirm itself through professional activities, in which the exhibition operations have create favorable conditions for the public to understand the life and career of President Ton Duc Thang.

The Commemorative Room toward President Ton Duc Thang
The Room is designed and decorated in the Southern worshipping style. On the two walls, there are two lacquerware pictures describing the house on stilts where Uncle Ton spent his childhood at his native village at Ong Ho Isle, My Hoa Hung Commune, Long Xuyen City, An Giang Province and the scenery of O Moi pier (the port from Long Xuyen crossing to Ong Ho Isle), where Uncle Ton used to go to school every day.
