Summary of the exhibition rooms

     The Commemorative Room toward President Ton Duc Thang
The Room is designed and decorated in the Southern worshipping style. On the two walls, there are two lacquerware pictures describing the house on stilts where Uncle Ton spent his childhood at his native village at Ong Ho Isle, My Hoa Hung Commune, Long Xuyen City, An Giang Province and the scenery of O Moi pier (the port from Long Xuyen crossing to Ong Ho Isle), where Uncle Ton used to go to school every day.

 

I. Permanent Exhibition: 7 rooms

    1. The Exhibition Room: “The Life and Career of President Ton Duc Thang”
The Room is displayed in the chronicles of the significant marks in the life of revolutionary activities of President Ton Duc Thang along with the process of Vietnam Revolution History in the nearly modern period. Materials and objects displayed prove the process of taking form, growing the thinking, actions and the significant events during over 90 years of President Ton Duc Thang’s life: from his childhood at his native place of Long Xuyen, An Giang until the time of being a head of state. It can be said that President Ton Duc Thang, one of the pioneer soldiers of the movement of our country’s working class, manifest not only the organizing ability of a leader but he also contribute a lot of significant reasoning to enrich the Ho Chi Minh’s Ideology, bequeathing for our Party many valuable lessons, particularly in building the national solidarity front. He has reserved all his life to struggle for the national liberation cause, Fatherland unification, for human’s peace and progress.

 

    2. The Exhibition Room: “Uncle Ton in the heart of world’s people”
As a member of World Peace Council, Chairman of Vietnam – Soviet Friendship Society, Uncle Ton has reserved his time and effort to operate and strive tirelessly for the struggle for peace and friendship between peoples, looking after the solidarity between Vietnamese People and progressive ones all over the world, becoming the symbol of the bright spirit of international proletarianism. For these reasons, Uncle Ton is appreciated by world’s friends. Medals, insignia and gifts offered Uncle Ton by international delegations, superior leaders, heads of states are to record the services and sentiments of world’s friends. Particularly, displaying the model of Uncle Ton hoisting flag in the Black Sea is to oppose the intervention plot of the Empires against the Soviet Russia, protecting the world’s first proletarian dictatorship State.

 
    3. The Exhibition Room: “Poulo Condor’s Pearl”
Poulo Condor’s prisons are the places to be named “Earth’s Hades”, particularly in a corner, displaying the model “Rice Husking Cell”, a hell of Earth’s Hades, the place where bodies of prisoners whom the colonialists considered “unruly” and “dangerous”, including Uncle Ton, are imprisoned and oppressed. This place, however, trained the unyielding soldiers. During 15 years in Poulo Condor’s prisons,  stories about “Prisoner Manager” Hai Thang in the Rice Husking Cell always prove the unyielding spirit of the communists.

 

    4. The Exhibition Room: “Uncle Ton at Viet Bac Safety Zone”
In this room, we display the model of the house on stilts with daily things of Uncle Ton during the time he lived and operated at Viet Bac Base. The displays help the viewers to more clearly understand Uncle Ton’s role during the 09 years of protracted resistance of our people in Viet Bac forests. As the Head of Central Patriotic Competition Maneuvering Committee together with all people realizing the Calls of Patriotic Competition of President Ho. Uncle Ton has laid the foundation for the vitality of patriotic competition, turning it into the main policy, the political culture of Vietnamese People. The activities of Uncle Ton at Viet Bac Base  linked with a heroic stage of national history in the 20th century.

 

    5. The Exhibition Room: “The daily life of President Ton Duc Thang”
Through the space of living and working of President Ton Duc Thang and the collections of the daily things, clothes, autograph of Uncle Ton, especially the set of tools of carpenter and bicycle repair express the profound traits of worker in Uncle’s manner. Revolutionary conducts, simplicity, modesty are the prominent features in the style and personality of Comrade Ton Duc Thang, symbolizing the elites, revolutionary virtues of the Vietnamese working class who spend all their lives for the country and people.

 

6. The Exhibition Room: “Reconstituting the working room and resting room of President Ton Duc Thang”
We reconstitute  the space of living and working of President Ton Duc Thang from 1958 to 1980. The Museum restores this room in the arrangement of things as desk, book-case, set of table and chairs… This makes the viewers to feel as if they are visiting the room where Uncle Ton used to work and to rest at 35 Tran Phu,  Ha Noi.

 

    7. The Exhibition Room: “Uncle Ton in Fine Arts Works”
The Museum displays the Fine Arts Works executed by  groups, individuals, craftsmen with all of their spirit and heart. They drew the portraits of Uncle Ton with the lively, unique sense from various substances in which there are materials of profound native fragrance as rice-grains, sesame-grains, pottery, porcelain… All the objects bequeath the people, especially the coming generations the works with profound humane value.
